Half-elves are produced when elves and humans mate. They share characteristics of both
races, but are treated as outcasts in both human and elven societies. Abandoned by their
families, they often seek the company of other half-elves, and many turn to religion as a
way of life. The physical weaknesses of half-elves make them eager to learn prayers of
healing and protection that allow them to survive in a hostile world.
